Justin's A Winner - Journal Entry #4
By Mark Nowak
To keep you updated on Justin and his current treatment plan. He is at Lurie Hospital for his long stay. He was admitted on Friday morning 9/16/16 for his 6th treatment and plans to return home on 9/21/16. This has always been his tougher chemo session mentally because of the length and stay. It's football weather and who wants to be "stuck" in the hospital? Let me tell you Justin NEVER complains. This is what his life is like now, and so he will do everything he can to make himself well. It is amazing to still see him being kind to others, staying positive and always believing there are better days ahead. At the end of the month he will have a repeat scan to see exactly how the chemotherapy is working on his tumors. The goal: shrinking or even better non existent. Please think of him daily and pray the chemo is doing exactly what it is designed to do and that those tumors are shrinking.
He had many family and family friends to visit over the weekend and as always the laughs were plentiful. He always feels the love.
For those of you who may not have heard, Mrs. Wegner's father passed away over Labor Day weekend after a long illness. He will be deeply missed.
Aly Estvander and Jenn Wadhwa, organized a fundraiser through her sorority at ISU, Delta Zeta, and all proceeds were donated to the JWEGSTRONG account. The sorority held a "Dress Down for a Dollar" and was a success.
This Friday, 9/23/16, will be a purple out in support of #JWEGSTRONG, at Wheaton Warrenville South High School. If you are able and plan to attend the game, please support the cause and wear purple.
Just has had so much love, support and kindness shown to him these past 2 months. Thank you to each and every one of you and please know your support makes a difference to him and his family.
